Websites for plumbers and heating engineers, built before you pay.
I build websites for plumbers and heating engineers in Worcestershire and across the UK. One customer has no hot water and a fault code on the boiler; another has been thinking about a new boiler since January, and the site has to answer both. I build yours first, finished, and you only pay if you want it: £650, or nothing. I trained in plumbing and heating and ran my own firm with 7 full-time staff, so I know the trade.

“Really made things easy for me as I’ve got not much experience on computers, but he sorted everything.”
Real sites, live now. Open any of them.
There is no plumber among my live sites yet. That is why yours is built first: you judge your own site, not a promise. The nearest match is Luke Cross Plastering, a plasterer near Bridgwater: one page built from photos of his own jobs, with every one of his Google reviews on it, word for word, and his number at the top.

“If you're a small business needing a website, I'd definitely recommend him.”
Read it in full
Brilliant website and great support throughout. Archie built a new website for my fitness business and I'm really pleased with it. It's clean, looks professional and is easy to find your way around, which is exactly what I wanted.
I'm not techy at all, but Archie helped me through the whole process and explained everything I needed to do in plain English. Nothing was too much trouble. If you're a small business needing a website, I'd definitely recommend him.
I’ll build it first. You decide after.
Tell me the business name, the town and the work you want more of. I send you three homepage designs within a day, then build the whole website in the one you pick, every page written, usually in about 2 days, and send you a link. Look at it in your own time, with whoever else has a say.
If you want it, it’s £650: a £162.50 deposit once you’re happy with the design, and the rest within 7 days of it going live. If you don’t, say so and it comes down. You pay nothing, and I won’t follow it up.
What is yours, and the small print
- Your domain (your web address, like yourbusiness.co.uk) is bought in your name, on your card. About £10 a year, paid to the company you buy it from, not to me. I send you a one-page guide to buying it.
- Every login is handed over in writing once it is paid for, and the hosting moves to an account in your name at no cost. Nothing is locked to me.
- No monthly fee unless you choose monthly care: £29 a month for up to five changes, stop any time.
- If you change your mind after saying yes, the 25% is kept for the work done. If I can’t get it live for a reason on my side, it comes back in full.
- You pay by bank transfer to the account named on the invoice. My bank details will never change by message.
What plumbers and heating engineers need from a website.
Your Gas Safe number where it can be checked
Customers are told, by the HSE and by everybody else, to check the register before they let anyone near a gas appliance. So put the registration number on the page and make it easy for them to look you up. OFTEC as well if you do oil, and say which appliances you are actually qualified on, because the back of the card is what a careful customer asks about. It is the cheapest trust on the whole site and most sites leave it off.
Installs and breakdowns are two different businesses
A new boiler is a considered purchase: the make, the model, the guarantee, what the price includes, whether the system gets flushed and inhibitor added, how long you are in the house. A breakdown is right now: no heating, pressure dropped, water coming through a ceiling. One page cannot do both. So split heating into a hub with its own service pages.
Landlord gas safety on its own page
Letting agents search for the certificate by name, and they book in tens rather than ones. A page that says you carry out landlord gas safety records, what the inspection covers, what happens if an appliance fails, and how the record reaches them, earns more per page than anything else on the site. Same for EICRs if you work alongside an electrician.
Accreditation, and what guarantee it buys the customer
Being a manufacturer’s accredited installer is only worth putting on a website if it says what the customer gets out of it: the longer guarantee, registered for them, on the makes you actually fit. Name the makes. Say who registers it and when. And if a badge or a number belongs to a different company than the one trading now, leave it off until that is sorted.
A fault helper that starts with the safety bit
Common faults, what each one usually means, and what is safe for them to try. If they can smell gas, the page tells them to turn it off at the meter, open the windows and ring the emergency line before anything else. It keeps somebody on your site instead of sending them to a forum, and it filters out the calls that were never calls.
Bathrooms kept apart from heating, if you do both
A bathroom is months of deciding; a boiler is a week. Different pages, different photographs, different pace. If there is a showroom, say plainly whether people can walk in or whether it is by appointment, and say it on every page rather than once. Mixing bathrooms into the heating pages loses you both jobs.
What usually goes wrong.
Already got a website? Check your current one
An old WordPress site, built years ago by an agency nobody can get hold of any more, with plugins that stopped updating, can be broken into and made to serve pages its owner never put there, without the owner knowing.
The contact form often dies at the same time, and nobody notices because the phone still rings a bit. Then the ordinary faults on top: a number that is not tappable, no Gas Safe number anywhere on the site, no town named, photographs of somebody else’s bathroom out of a supplier’s catalogue, and finance or guarantee wording carried over from an old company that isn’t the one authorised to say it.
Anything on there that isn’t yours or isn’t true is a liability, not a selling point. The sites I build are plain HTML and CSS: no WordPress, no plugins, no database, so there is nothing sitting there to be broken into and nothing to keep updated.

Fair questions
Where should my Gas Safe number go?
On the page, as text, where a customer can check it on the register before you go near a gas appliance. OFTEC as well if you do oil.
Should boiler installs and breakdowns have separate pages?
Yes. A new boiler is a considered purchase and a breakdown is right now. One page cannot do both, so heating gets a hub with its own service pages.
Most of my work is word of mouth. Do I still need a website?
Yes. The person you were recommended to looks you up before they get in touch, and the website is what they find. More on why word of mouth still needs a website.
How much does a plumber’s website cost?
£0 to see it. £650 for the website built and live on your own domain: £162.50 when you say yes and £487.50 within 7 days of it going live. Or £900 with a year of changes, up to five a month. A one-page website is £350.
How long does it take?
Three homepage designs within a day, then usually about 2 days to build. Then you look at it in your own time, before deciding anything. Once you say yes, it goes live within 3 working days of your last change, and within 14 days at most.
What’s the catch?
Here is everything it can cost you. If it’s a no, nothing. If it’s a yes, 25% to go ahead: it is kept if you change your mind before the site goes live, and refunded in full if I can’t get it live for a reason on my side. The rest is due within 7 days of it going live. Your domain is about £10 a year, paid by you. Changes after it goes live are £50 for up to five, unless you have the year of changes or monthly care, and you send them to me: there is no editor to log into. And nobody can promise you a place on Google, me included.
