When I rebuilt Stratworth Advisory’s website, I measured both home pages the same way on the same day: the old WordPress one took 7.4 seconds to show its main content, the new one 0.8 seconds. How it was measured

What is and isn’t included.

The small print, in plain words. If it is not on this page, it is not on the bill. The order of events is on how it works, and the payment terms are in clause 8 of the terms.

Included, every time

  • Every page written. You don’t supply the words.
  • Fast, clear and easy to use.
  • Your number as a one-tap call, and a contact form that actually sends.
  • Set up so Google can read it, with a sitemap.
  • Every login handed over in writing when you pay.
  • Live within 14 days of your go-ahead, with the changes you ask for before then included.

Never charged for

  • Anything wrong rather than changed: my typo, a broken link, a form that does not send.
  • Looking at it before you decide.
  • Walking away.

Paid separately, not to me

  • The domain, about £10 a year, bought on your card in your name.
  • Hosting costs nothing on the kind of site I build, and that account is yours as well.
  • Email on your domain, if you want it, paid to whoever you choose.

If plans change

  • If you cancel after saying yes, before it goes live, the 25% is kept for the work done. Nothing more is owed.
  • If I can’t get it live for a reason on my side, the 25% comes back in full.
  • Payment is by bank transfer only. My bank details will never change by message.

“If you're a small business needing a website, I'd definitely recommend him.”

Brilliant website and great support throughout. Archie built a new website for my fitness business and I'm really pleased with it. It's clean, looks professional and is easy to find your way around, which is exactly what I wanted.

I'm not techy at all, but Archie helped me through the whole process and explained everything I needed to do in plain English. Nothing was too much trouble. If you're a small business needing a website, I'd definitely recommend him.

From one page to a full company site.

The fixed prices above cover most businesses. Start with one page if that is all you need, or go much bigger: sites built around listings, stock or several locations are quoted on their own, in writing, before I start. Every one is built first, on the same terms.

  • £350

    One-page website

What you do and where, your photos and reviews, a link to your Google listing, a contact form and a WhatsApp button. Live on your own domain and set up for Google.

  • +£300

Grow it into the full site

When you want more pages, the £350 counts towards the £650 website, so you pay the difference. Upgrade within 12 months and nothing is wasted.

Bigger builds

  • From £2,950

    Estate and lettings agents

Your listings copied across from your property software every weekday, search with a map and a shortlist, and your own staff editing everything else. See what you would save.

  • Quoted per group

    Care groups

A page for each home with its own CQC rating, fees and dated vacancies, and one place for families to compare. One home is £650; a group is priced on the number of homes. Care home websites.

  • Quoted

    Shops, stock and catalogues

A site built around products, parts or stock that changes every week, kept up to date by your own team rather than by a page builder.

  • Quoted

    Larger company sites

Many services or locations, a staff login to edit the site, and ongoing updates on a monthly arrangement you can stop with a month’s notice.

The same terms as every site: nothing until you have seen it working, 25% to go ahead, and the balance within 7 days of it going live.

Looked after, if you want it.

Not everybody wants to deal with changes themselves. Take a year of changes with the website, or monthly care later, and you just send me what you want changed. Both are optional. Monthly care has no minimum term.

  • £900 with the website

    A year of changes

The website plus up to five changes a month for 12 months after it goes live. No monthly payments, and £98 less than a year of monthly care.

  • £29 a month

    Monthly care

Up to five changes every month, done within two working days, and a one-page Google report. For sites that change often: prices, offers, new photos. Stop it any time.

  • Every new website gets a one-page Google report each month for its first three months: how often Google showed it, what people searched, and three things to do next. After that, the report comes with monthly care.
  • Both include a monthly check that your call buttons and form still work.
  • Anything broken is fixed at no charge, as it always is.
  • Unused changes do not roll over. Stop monthly care any time, and it ends with the month you have paid for.
No monthly care?
Changes are £50 for up to five, back within two working days. A new page is £150, within three working days.

Fair questions about the price.

The ones people ask before they say yes, answered with the same figures as everywhere else on the site.

Fair questions

How much does a website cost?

£350 for a one-page website, £650 for the website built and live on your own domain, or £900 for the website with a year of changes: up to five a month for 12 months after it goes live. Extra pages are £150 each.

What is the year of changes?

The £900 option is the website plus up to five changes a month for 12 months after it goes live, paid with the website, so there are no monthly payments. A year of monthly care would be £348 on top of the £650, so it works out £98 less.

Do you build bigger websites?

Yes. Websites built around property listings, stock or a catalogue, groups with several homes or locations, and larger company sites are quoted on their own, in writing, before I start. Estate and lettings agency websites start at £2,950, with your listings copied across from your property software and your own staff editing the rest. The terms are the same: nothing until you have seen it, 25% to go ahead, and the balance within 7 days of going live.

When do I pay?

Nothing is payable until you have seen the finished website and said yes. Then 25% is due to go ahead, and the balance within 7 days of it going live on your own domain. No VAT is charged. The payment terms say the same.

What happens to the 25% if I change my mind?

If you cancel after saying yes, before the website goes live, the 25% is kept for the work already done, and nothing more is owed by either side. If I can’t get it live for a reason on my side, I refund it in full. Once it is live on your domain, the price is payable.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer to the account named on the invoice. My bank details will never change by message: if you are ever told they have, check with me before paying. No VAT is charged.

Is there anything to sign?

Nothing to see it. If you want it, I send an order form that sets out the pages, what goes on each one and the price. A reply saying “confirmed” is enough, and no signature is needed. The terms are on this site.

Is there a monthly fee?

No, unless you choose monthly care: £29 a month, and you can stop it any time. The domain is about £10 a year, paid by you in your name, and hosting costs nothing on the kind of site I build.

What does monthly care cover?

Up to five changes a month, done within two working days, a monthly check that your call buttons and form still work, and a one-page Google report each month. Unused changes do not roll over. Stop it any time, and it ends with the month you have paid for.

What does a change cost once the website is live?

£50 for up to five changes sent together, back within two working days. A new page is £150, within three working days. Anything wrong rather than changed, such as my typo or a form that does not send, is fixed at no charge.

Can I start with one page and grow it later?

Yes. The £350 counts in full towards the £650 or £900 website if you upgrade within 12 months, so you pay the difference.
